Pathway to Permaculture Website Launch
Hello! My name is John and I am the founder of Pathway to Permaculture. A new website interested and involved in all things permaculture.
I have a background working in the charity and academic sectors and have created the Pathway to Permaculture website because of my passion for permaculture and my desire to live a life doing what I love. I am so excited to share this journey with you.
Before we get started though it will be good to know what it is I’m talking about when I say permaculture.
What is Permaculture?
It’s quite possible that you’ve heard the term ‘permaculture’ before. It’s popping up everywhere!
Permaculture farms, homesteads and even tiny houses are becoming more popular as people adjust to post-pandemic life.
But what is it? What does permaculture mean?
In a nutshell, permaculture is an approach to design that is built upon how nature and the natural world work. It’s understanding how harmonious nature is. It’s working with nature when designing spaces not against it.
This is obviously a basic definition but it’s a starting point. It’s all we need to know for now. In future posts I’ll discuss the three ethics of permaculture and the twelve principles of permaculture design.
But for now, lets move back to what the Pathway to Permaculture website is.
The Pathway to Permaculture Website
The Pathway to Permaculture website is a new hub for permaculture. It will include four key offerings:
- Permaculture Design
- Permaculture Education
- A Permaculture Shop
- A Permaculture Blog
These offerings are briefly summarised in the infographic to the right.
If you have explored the site already you will know some of these services are still under development. I am taking my time with this to ensure it is done correctly.
With this in mind, I expect the shop to begin operation in October 2021 and hope the design and education service will commence in early 2022. Subscribe to our newsletter for further updates!
In the meantime, focus will be on producing engaging blog content. My aim is to publish a new blog post every week.
Blog content will vary. I am planning both detailed and simplified posts about permaculture to ensure it is accessible for all.
I want to create desired content. Content that can help you. Let me know if you have any content requests and I will get to it.
This is an exciting journey for me to be on and I want you to benefit too.
My Favourite Permaculture Online Resources
I’ve spoken a little bit about what’s to come already. To recap:
- A permaculture blog post every week
- A permaculture shop in October 2021
- Permaculture design and education services in early 2022
This means that it will take a short while before this blog has tonnes of useful content. Don’t wait for me though. If you are ready to start learning about permaculture today there are plenty of amazing online resources out there. Here are just a few of mine:
I hope you have enjoyed reading this introduction to Pathway to Permaculture. There are exciting times ahead. Remember, it doesn’t matter if you are completely new to permaculture. Everyone begins somewhere. We are all at different places along the path. I’m still learning and I’m excited to do so alongside you.
